While driving through a remote, snow-covered mountain pass during a violent blizzard, a young woman's car breaks down, forcing her to seek immediate shelter at an isolated, eerie roadside motel. The near-empty establishment is run by a highly eccentric, uncommunicative manager who enforces strange, rigid rules on the few stranded guests. As the night deepens, she begins hearing disturbing, violent noises echoing through the thin walls and discovers that the phone lines are completely cut.
