Planet Namek is actively collapsing and on the verge of total explosion after Frieza desperately launches a core-destroying attack. As the countdown to destruction ticks away, the Earth's Dragon Balls are used to cleverly resurrect all of Frieza's victims and safely transport everyone to Earth, leaving only Goku and Frieza behind to finish their bitter duel. Goku repeatedly offers the defeated and humiliated tyrant mercy, but Frieza's blinding pride drives him to a desperate, self-destructive final strike. Goku effortlessly counters the blast, seemingly vaporizing the tyrant before scrambling to find a way off the dying planet. Namek violently explodes into cosmic stardust, leaving the world to mourn the apparent, tragic death of their greatest Saiyan protector.
