Desperate to save himself from the wrath of the Super Saiyans, Dr. Gero successfully escapes to his hidden mountain laboratory to activate his ultimate creations: Android 17 and Android 18. However, the rebellious mechanical siblings immediately turn on their creator, brutally executing Gero before activating a third, experimental model known as Android 16. Vegeta proudly challenges the newly awakened Androids, but Android 18 delivers a humiliating, bone-shattering defeat to the Saiyan prince, leaving the rest of the Z-Warriors completely unconscious. Realizing the heroes are drastically outmatched, Piccolo makes the difficult choice to travel to the lookout and permanently fuse with Kami, reuniting their spirits to unlock an ancient, godly level of power.
