While the Z-Warriors recover, Bulma discovers a second, heavily weathered time machine containing a massive, mysterious eggshell, signaling a completely unexpected and horrifying new threat. Piccolo travels to Ginger Town to investigate a wave of bizarre mass disappearances, where he confronts a grotesque, bio-engineered monster named Cell. Cell reveals that he was created by Dr. Gero's supercomputer using the genetic material of the universe's greatest warriors, and that he must absorb Androids 17 and 18 to achieve his Perfect Form. Piccolo engages the monster in a fierce battle, but the clever beast uses Goku's Solar Flare technique to escape into the shadows, ruthlessly liquefying entire towns to increase his power level.
