Six months after the historic battle at the Aogiri fortress, Ken Kaneki has transformed into a cold, ruthless vigilante, leading a small splinter cell consisting of Tsukiyama, Hinami, and the massive ghoul Banjou. He systematically hunts down information regarding the mysterious Doctor Kanou—the surgeon who performed his organ transplant—suspecting a massive, dark conspiracy. His investigations lead him to an underground laboratory where Kanou is actively performing horrific, twisted human-ghoul hybridization experiments. Concurrently, Kotaro Amon and the CCG track the same lead, setting the stage for a violent three-way collision in the dark beneath the city.
